Earlier this year, we introduced a free trial of Sidekick to let customers explore its features for a limited time. The feedback we received was encouraging, so we decided to make Sidekick easier for Binary Ninja users to access and use regularly.

So today we’re introducing Sidekick Free, a new plan that comes with every active Binary Ninja license. There’s nothing extra to buy or sign up for. Just install the latest version of the Sidekick plugin and start using it.

Monthly Usage, Automatically Refreshed

Sidekick Free includes a limited amount of Sidekick service usage each month. Your allowance refreshes on the same day of the month that your plan started, giving you a new allocation for the next month.

The plan follows your Binary Ninja license:

  • It remains available while the associated Binary Ninja support is active.
  • It expires when that support expires.
  • If you renew Binary Ninja support, the Sidekick Free plan expiration is extended to match the renewed support period.

Built to Improve Sidekick

Sidekick Free permits data collection for product development and training. That feedback loop helps us improve Sidekick’s ability to work across more binaries, architectures, toolchains, and reverse-engineering problems.

If you need more usage or paid-plan data protections, you can purchase a paid plan at any time and configure Sidekick with the API key for that plan.

Commercial Use Follows Your Binary Ninja License

We have also simplified commercial use across every Sidekick plan. Your ability to use Sidekick for commercial purposes is governed by the terms of the Binary Ninja license in use, rather than by your Sidekick plan. See the Binary Ninja commercial use policy for details.

When a Paid Plan Is the Better Fit

Sidekick Free is designed to help Binary Ninja users experience what Sidekick can do through lighter, ongoing use. Its monthly usage allowance gives you room to explore Sidekick’s core capabilities and see how it fits into your reverse-engineering workflow.

As your usage grows, paid plans provide higher monthly limits and are not tied to active Binary Ninja support. Pro and Max also prohibit data collection for product development and model training.

Since commercial use is now governed separately by the terms of the Binary Ninja license in use, this lets you choose a Sidekick plan based on your usage, support status, and data-handling requirements.

See Your Plan and Remaining Usage

The latest Sidekick plugin also makes it easier to understand the service behind your current session. Click the Sidekick status bar widget to see which plan you are using and the percentage of usage remaining.
